Psychotherapy
As registered psychotherapists, we specialize in providing evidence-based and client-centered care for supporting anxiety and mood management, living with chronic and/or advanced illness, life transitions, as well as grief and bereavement. Our practice provides clients with collaborative, values-driven, and strengths-based care to optimize wellness and support. We support clients in creating a care plan using principles of acceptance and commitment therapy, mindfulness, and attachment theory that best supports individual needs. Your therapist will work closely with you to determine the best approach to care, and will support you in creating goals that align with your specific needs. Each session will provide you with a safe, caring and compassionate space to explore your thoughts, feelings, and life experiences, and your therapist will support you in moving in a direction that optimizes your health and well-being.
If you are interested in incorporating creative arts therapies in your psychotherapeutic process, please select a Music Therapy session instead of Psychotherapy.
Music Therapy
Music therapy is an evidence-based psychotherapeutic approach that integrates elements of music into a comprehensive model of care to support treatment goals, and optimize wellness.
Music can impact and affect us in deeply therapeutic ways, as music is a powerful tool for self-expression and connection. Certified Music Therapists (MTAs) are trained to incorporate various aspects of music into a model of care that supports physical, emotional, cognitive, and spiritual well-being; they work with individuals across the life span, and can specialize in treating a range of mental health needs. Your music therapist will work closely with you to set goals and objectives for your therapeutic process, and tailor a personalized approach for your specific needs. No previous musical training or experience is required.
Clinical Supervision (Online Only)
SarahRose Black offers clinical supervision to trainees and students seeking to obtain their RP (Registered Psychotherapist) or MT-BC/MTA (Certified Music Therapist) designation, as well as to working professionals who are interested in diving deeper into their practice and exploring new perspectives, techniques, approaches, and/or receiving support. Supervision with SarahRose is based on clinician or trainee-driven needs and experiences as well as a mutual exploration of different perspectives within the practices of psychotherapy and/or music therapy. SarahRose is a CAMT and CRPO-approved clinical supervisor.
Meditation
A practice of cultivating present-moment attention through mindfulness techniques such as breath awareness, body scans, and guided visualizations. Participants may experience increased relaxation and sharpened focus.
Sound Bath
An immersive full-body listening experience. Michaela crafts a meditative soundscape guided by quartz crystal singing bowls, drum, voice, and more to support a deeper state of rest and relaxation, which may invite therapeutic processes to take place, such as regulating the nervous system, slowing the brainwaves, lowering stress levels, and boosting energy.
Yoga
A mindful movement practice including breathing techniques, gentle stretches, asanas (physical postures) and meditation. This session may incorporate both dynamic and steady movements, which are adapted to meet the physical needs and desires of the participant(s).
